The following is a breakout of the “Rail Car Mover Operator” course for operators working in an industrial environment.
PREREQUISITES: Trainee must have completed “Industrial Rail Safety”
OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course trainees will have the skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently perform the duties of rail car mover operator in an industrial environment. They will demonstrate the following:
- Start up and shut down procedures
- Daily safety inspections and checklist
- Brake tests
- Operation on ‘rubber’
- Operation on ‘rails’
- Operation coupling and uncoupling rail cars
- Proper use of independent and automatic brakes valves
- Train handling techniques
- Troubleshooting
DURATION: The course is of a 2 day duration, 1 day classroom – 1 day on rail car mover.
CLASS SIZE: 1 – 4 trainees
